Vivian Shirley Edith Savrtka (nee Martin) was born 21 July, 1935, in Drumheller, AB. Vivian passed away peacefully in Nanaimo, BC, October 24, 2021, after a brief, unexpected illness.
She was predeceased by her husband George; brothers Gilbert, Everett; and sister Charlene.
Vivian will be missed by son Dale (Janet); daughter Lynn (Brad); grandsons Joel (Annie), Cody (Anna); 4 great grandchildren; brother Albert “Bert” (Irene) Martin; sister Twyla (Barry) Langill; numerous nieces and nephews.
Vivian spent the majority of her career in the insurance industry, and at one time co owned her own insurance agency. Over the years Mom enjoyed a wide variety of crafts, travelling, and writing our family history. She cherished time spent with family.
We wish to thank family, and good friends for their continued support over the years, as well as the compassionate care received at Nanaimo Hospital, during her last stay.
Mom loved flowers, but anyone who wished to, could donate to the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.

Vivian was a very special lady. We loved meeting with her for a few months this padt year. Her life and her testimony was always such an encouragement and inspiration. She will be dearly missed.

Dear Vivian; what a good friend she has been to me over the years, and I will miss her greatly. I’m so thankful that she remained true to God through all the years that I have known her…..an encouragement to me indeed.

Every moment I got to spend with my Aunt Vivian was always time well spent, I was always excited to go visit her. She was quite the Proper Lady, soft-spoken, kind, and would always share her wisdom with me. She was like my Mary Poppins.
I have been incredibly honoured and blessed that Aunt Vivian was a part of my life, and I’ll forever have a smile on my face by even the thought of your name.

When tomorrow starts without Mom:
I feel for the adjustments each family member has to make at this time.
Grief is a hard taskmaster yet a necessary path for all. . .
Cherish all the memories and keep in close touch with each other.
I shall miss her yearly Christmas letter.
