So sorry that we were unable to attend Robert’s memorial but how lovely to hear it on this platform.
He has made it a day of rejoicing for his family and friends by the life he lived.

Over many years, I, as many others, witnessed Robert’s kind and patient spirit to his family and those who gathered there for meeting. Robert and Viola opened their home and heart to us all without partiality. They cheerfully shared what they had.
When Robert moved. to Chilliwack he accepted his lot with grace and a smile. I cherish my little chats with him at meetings. They always cheered my heart.
Much love to each of you with your own precious memories to cheer future days.

We loved getting to know Robert when he moved to Chilliwack, and we enjoyed being in Sunday and Wednesday meetings with him every week. Our family often said we hope we will be just like him when we grow old. He left a beautiful example in so many ways.

    Dear Eeles family,
Do think of you and are glad there is so much comfort. I have just listened to the service and could feel the same as those who spoke. Glad there is a memorial with God to faithful lives, as Robert, quiet but steady and true. Good courage as you face into the future without Robert. With love, Betty Gregg

So thankful that Robert finally got his wish to be called Home. He will be remembered for his humble, kind, loving, and thoughtful Soul.. He and Viola completed one another so well, and were faithful helpers in His kingdom,. They showed unconditional love to every individual who attended their little church until they themselves were unable. We had the privilege of going to their home Sunday mornings for over 20 years. Robert was a wonderful example of a Godly man in our day and generation.

Our family’s relationship with Robert and Viola dates back to the 1940’s. when our Mother first knew them. I believe Robert took Mum to Silverdale when he first got his licence. The family moved back East in the 1950’s but they kept in touch through the years. Our visits with them over the years were very special though they weren’t frequent. A godly, helpful couple, admired by many. He’ll be missed.

Robert was an ordinary man in many ways, but there was nothing ordinary about his spirit. His care for others, his quiet manner, the Godliness of his home and life, were marks of an extraordinary spirit. Robert & Viola lived for others. Their home was open to others. They had a way of reaching out and keeping in touch with many that were easily forgotten, but not by them. It was a privilege to have known both Robert and Viola.

As I think of my Uncle Robert there are many words to describe him: Godly, humble, gentle, kind, caring, quiet, unassuming, nonjudgmental , steadfast and a rock. I have so many good memories of him since I was a child and I’m thankful for his influence and presence in my life! Thankful he’s gone home but we will miss him.

Dear Kenny ; John and I , along with all our family , are saddened by the loss of your dearly loved father . To us he was a ” steady brother ” and definitely WAS as described above….. ” a gentle, kindhearted man who loved God “. Very much strength and power in that description ! Thinking of Robert ….. a softly glowing ember comes to the minds eye , gone on now to a brighter radiance with the one he loved . Ken , you and all your family, are in our prayers . Sending Love
