In Loving Memory of
John Anthony Cardi
January 5, 1932 – February 1, 2021
Virtual Celebration of Life Gathering was held April 11, 2021 at 5:00 PM EDT
John Cardi, 89 years young, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather died suddenly on February 1st when he fell down the stairs.
John, who married and had his first child at 18, was a tough, hardworking man, who with only a high school diploma, rose from a runner on Wall Street to the managerial levels at a brokerage firm.
He fathered four amazing daughters, all professionals, Dawn, Donna, Christine Cardi and Lorraine Cardi Spack. His sons in law, Ken Kinzer, Robert Lardieri and Larry Spack loved him and sought his sport, poker and investment advice.
He also leaves behind 8 wonderful grandchildren, Vanessa, Zachary Kyle, Jeremy Alexandra, Emily, Bennett and Madison who loved their Papa John. He was also beloved by Zachary’s partner Jennifer Lilah and Jeremy’s wife Victoria Barth Lardieri.
He was blessed with two great grandchildren Austin James and Laila Isabel. He was predeceased by his amazing wife, our mother, Arleen, whom he missed every day.
Please donate in his name to either the Food Bank of NYC or Savvy Ladies.

What an amazing life these two teenagers built — on love — for each other and the generations that followed — you are all so blessed.

I have known John (or Mr. Cardi, as I always called him) for almost my entire life! I remember him coming home from work each evening via the A train; holding his newspaper walking down 107th street. He was always dressed sharply in suit and tie, and walked with a happy gait. He was almost always whistling! Then there were the many dinners I enjoyed with the family; they always made me feel part of them. My heart goes out to the girls and family; I know you will all miss him dearly. Hang on to the great memories you had of him. May God Bless.
