Thank you for making the service accessible to us. Such a comforting service. Please let both musicians know the hymns were deeply heartfelt.

We often heard of the Grieve family from our parents as we were growing up in Williams Lake. My parents were married in Courtney in 1940 but moved up to the Cariboo in 1946. I have a photo on my piano showing your Parents, Florence and George standing beside my my Mum and Dad, Jack & Lily Catling around the time your parents were married. They enjoyed fellowship together.
In 1990, they flew up to be at my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary as your Dad was my Dad’s best man. These memories bring a closeness to your family.

Heartfelt sympathy to each of family as you feel the loss of a dear family heart. Your Mom left no doubt as to what came first in her life – a true example.

Florence was a truly wonderful woman. She has been an inspiration to my mother, Arlene, since Mom first met her. Mom has often said “I want to be like Florence”. After Mom had her stroke in 20`14 Florence would often call to check up on Mom, and we would have pleasant afternoon visits..
Our deepest condolences to family and friends.

Florence was such an inspiration to me. I visited with her at convention each year and she always had such a thankful spirit. I remember when she was 99 years old, she wasn’t sure she would be able for another year, and yet there she would be the next year. I will miss her.

The closing of another chapter in the Grieve’s Family History! So privileged to have known this Grandma and share many times together both in B.C. and Hawaii! Sending hugs to you all and sorry we are south and unable to attend the service in person…May you all know comfort and take courage as you carry on without her.

Dear Ken & Louise ~ We have very fond memories of your folks when we lived in Campbell River (1963-1970). Your Mom was always so cheerful, and “bright as a button” whenever we’ve had the privilege of seeing her through the years, since “way back then”! Sent with our love, Don & Edith-Anne Clegg

Florence was our “Courtney Mom”! She treated us like family. Our annual boat flotilla was not complete without a trip to the farm. So often we found Mom in her bountiful garden or washing the floor Saturday afternoon getting the house ready for meeting. Our thoughts go to each of the Grieve family as they mourn the loss of a most special Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma.

It is hard to express in words the joy I felt every time I had opportunity to be with “Auntie” Florence. Her memory was amazing and she could tell me so many interesting family details! She radiated her joy in looking forward to a “better country” …. and so we rejoice. But we also think of you all in your feeling of loss.

With Care & Sympathy, Coleen Farrell
