Diane Kuhn Hoffmann, of Port Jefferson Station, NY passed away on November 30, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old. Diane was born in Stamford CT on December 22, 1938 and grew up in Jackson Heights, NY. Diane received a BS in Physical Education from Adelphi University in 1960. Diane was married to Frederick Conrad Hoffmann III for 60 wonderful years. Diane was a stay at home mom for many years, and then an educator for Comsewogue School District.
Diane had many interests and hobbies. Diane loved her community, and was a Comsewogue Public Library Board Trustee for many years, and also a member of the Port Jefferson Station Historical Society. She was a collector of antiques and depression glass. She was an avid baker, and was known for her famous fudge and chocolate chip cookies, as well as her Christmas cookie plates that she lovingly made for her family and friends each year. Diane had wonderful life long friends, and enjoyed playing bridge and having tea in her kitchen. She loved to travel with her husband and family, with a special love for Vermont. Diane was a sports fan, and enjoyed going to Islanders games, was an avid Mets fan, and fan of the NY Giants.
Diane was loved by everyone she met, and was best known for her amazing smile and laugh. Her theory on life was to be happy. She demonstrated this every day, with a smile that was always present, in all situations. Her contagious smile, along with her hearty laugh will never be forgotten. Her love of life and her amazing strength and courage, will be forever remembered and carried on through anyone who was fortunate to know her.
Diane loved her family more than anything. She and her husband Frederick had 4 children, Frederick Hoffmann IV and wife Lynda, Matthew Hoffmann, Peter Hoffmann, and Christine (Hoffmann) Joy and husband David; 9 grandchildren, Frederick V, Douglas and wife Samantha, Logan and fiance Dan Nelson, Trystan, Brandon, Quinn, Ellen, Amy and Nicholas; 2 great grandchildren, Steele and Walker. She was adored by her family, and she will be forever in their hearts.

Mrs. Hoff was always a bright light and made our years growing up together so wonderful! She always had a smile (and fudge!) for everyone! Her laugh was infectious and brightened up every room! Mrs Hoffmann was an integral part of my teenage years. She welcomed all of Chris’s friends into her home with a warm batch of chocolate chip cookies and famous fudge and her never ending smile. She was truly one of a kind and left a lasting imprint on my heart.
