Brody Michael Lomax Obituary
Brody Michael Lomax was born on April 16, 1995 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC to parents Michael and Lara Lomax. He was the oldest of two boys, with Joshua joining the family two years later.
Brody attended school in Kamloops and Williams Lake, before settling into Mission with his family in 2002. He graduated from Robert Bateman Secondary in 2013, where he received the top Art student award and enjoyed participating in the Golf Academy. After graduating, Brody did a graphic design intensive at Emily Carr University and also attended UFV and Kwantlen to study drafting.
Brody worked at various jobs such as Rollins Machinery, ESRI Canada, and V-Twin Audio, while he explored what career appealed to him. He recently completed an introduction to welding at BCIT and was registered to start the welding foundation program.
Brody passed away suddenly on August 9th, 2023 at Royal Columbian Hospital.
He leaves behind his heart-broken parents, Mike and Lara Lomax, brother Joshua and sister-in-law Helena, grandparents Bevan and Lenore Jones, John Lomax and Yanina Malkowski, and Sharin Lomax. He was well loved by his uncles D’Arcy, Troy and Bruno, and aunties Caralyn, Leah and Michelle. Brody had 9 very special cousins: Matthew, Colin and Ryan Benedet; Grey, Cy, and Edie Jones; and Oliver (Victoria), Lily and Ruby Jones. They will all miss his extensively detailed car facts.
Brody will be deeply missed by his family and many dear friends.
There are two ways to honour the memory of Brody:
- A scholarship at Robert Bateman School will be established in Brody’s name to honour his love of art. Information is available and donations can be made here.

Oh, My Dear Friends Mike, Lara, Joshua, and family,
I am so very sorry, This is so hard to believe! I know how hard it must be for you all. I truly believe that every one of you gave Brody everything that he needed. You taught him all about pure love, learning the main reason we are here. How precious God and Jesus are, and how he called each one by name. The pain you all must be feeling, that someone could have done what they did. Remember our Father in Heaven knows what happened. No one escapes his judgments or his mercy. It is where our hearts are, the trust we have, and the faith he has taught us, you were the best family for dear Brody, and that is why God entrusted him to you all. He loved you all and he is where there is total peace, and is with divine love. My heart goes out to you all, may you find peace in Jesus’s words, ” I shall never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

Brody was a very close friend of mine, I met Brody almost 9 years ago and when I first met him it was at Kwantlen Unviversity and ever since we were best friends. I’m going to miss him all, his personality, his passion for cars, his love for music and his laugh when I could cheer him up. We would always go for big walks together and one of his favorite places was Golden Ears Trail. I’m going to miss him calling me everyday just wanting to see how I was doing or just to even chat it was wholesome and he was a big part of my life and I’m going to miss him soo very much. I really enjoyed working with Brodie during his time at my shop. We always had lots of laughs. When Brodie laughed it filled the room. He had a great sense of humour and a unique way of looking at situations. I still repeat some of the funny sayings he used to come up with. Brodie had a very good understanding of electronics and audio equipment. He loved to share new music he found. We would often listen to his tunes on a stereo system that we had just finished together.
I am going to miss him dearly and will never forget him.
