Words cannot do justice to the service/ Praise God for that life of example to us left here, May God be the Glory as he hasn’t forgotten us and has eternity prepared for us to fellowship with Aunt Betty and praise him with the Saints in Heaven.

When I think of and remember Aunty Betty, the first word that always comes to mind is ‘Love’. Aunty Betty radiated love, warmth and kindness. She always had a special smile and a hug and always just seemed to know what to say to lift your spirit. It was a privilege to know her, to love her to sit in her gospel meetings to be around her.

We sometimes hear that we preach our own funeral service. Aunty Betty certainly did. A lovely service for such a wonderful servant of God. So thankful for all the times we had the privilege of having her in our home. Such a Godly influence because of the Spirit of God having control over her life. She was indeed a true and impartial, faithful friend.

Auntie Betty and her family are a precious part of my childhood memories. My heart holds many times of friendship and fellowship close. She shared with me the gospel story and it was in one of the gospel meetings she held in Creston that I choose to follow Jesus at nine years old. I have always felt her love, prayers and encouragement through the years, even from afar. Sending my hugs and love to the family and friends feeling her loss here keenly. xo

We have special memories of the times when Betty stayed in our home.
Once she came to Merritt with blackberries from “the coast” so we could make a pie together! And she brought us a colander from her sister Lola’s place after I mentioned that ours had gone with the fire. We used it just the other day and thought of her kindness and thoughtfulness again.

It was my first year in the fellowship 39 years ago that Merna Knudson introduced me to Betty On the Monday after Portage convention, Merna brought Betty to our home in Winnipeg for afternoon tea. She and Merna had been companions previously in Hong Kong. I was so touched by Betty’s warmth and easy manner, and touched many times since by her inclusiveness toward us in various times, places and circumstances. Genuine, comforting and Spirit led is how I think of dear Betty. Hymn 344 ‘Dear Saviour, leave me not alone…’ was also Merna’s forvorite hymn of all time … perhaps they sung it together many times while in Hong Kong. Such an encouraging, inspiring life.

My dear Cameron’s and other neices and nephews …
I know you feel favored to have such a loving Auntie … Jesus said .. take my yoke and learn of me .. I am meek and lowly of heart .. it was this meek , lowly heart that enabled her to love us … we are grateful for her influence ..❤️

From Minnesota we would have the privilege of Canadian conventions, and that is how I met Betty. Having the same name she was special, and I loved following her thro the years….and now a final victory as she approaches the eternity she told us about and loved to anticipate herself.

We can remember Betty from our youth, and the house in Creston where her folks lived, and where I often visited with Marian Berg. Such good memories. Through the years, she was always there, a very faithful lady, very sure about her commitment to being part of God’s ministry. Always such a sweet person. Enjoying her life’s reward now. Dear friends and family of Betty. I count myself as one of her friends and very fortunate to be! Betty was always most kind and supportive. I hope to virtually join you from Argentina next Tuesday.

It was in 2018 that I had the privilege of meeting Betty for the first time and had many visits with her after that, in person when I was in BC while my mother lived, last spring being our last visit, shortly before my mother passed. She had such an interest in God’s work and family and always so interested in eastern Europe where I am. Two rich, spiritual qualities came to my mind when I l learned she was gone–a pillar of humility and meekness. Her example will live on in our hearts. Sharon Worden

Loved this dear auntie Betty so much. Her love for Gods children was upper most and we all felt it. Her gentle quiet spirit brings peace even thinking of her. I remember as children when they were staying with us they would be helping with the wash or other chores and telling us children stories. Grace Websdale, Elsi Dixon, and Myrtle Proctor and likely others. Wonderful years. Thank you dear Betty.
