It was a privilege to know Annie. I often think of my Sunday morning meetings at Newman’s with Annie and Leonard. I remember her beautiful spirit. I remember her often wiping away a tear as we passed the emblems. I remember the warmth you felt in their farm house in Ladner. I knew I could go years without seeing them and when I did they would be the exact same as I had always known. Their constancy was reassuring. Annie would be the most surprised person ever to know how her joyful humble spirit has touched our lives.

Annie was a lady with a beautiful spirit. Ralphs first memories of Annie and Lennert almost go back to the days when they arrived in Canada. Renai remembers the tremendous cooking that Annie turned out when she cranked up the heat in that great wood stove in the old farmhouse in Ladner. Not to mention all the tricks the kids would play on trusting Annie! Annie could start all the hymns all through the years from a Words Only hymn book cuz she didn’t read music apparently? The last visits I had with Annie then Lennert in the two separate care facilities the day after Phyllis Olson’s funeral are something I will never forget. I was inexpressibly inspired by their rich spirit. A life well spent for others.

My favorite memory of Annie includes Leonard, of course. About 40 years ago when I was about 20 I was flying into Vancouver airport but the fog was so bad that all the planes that day were being re-routed to sit on the runways of airports in other areas. I was to have arrived in the morning and I finally landed in the late evening, hungry, thirsty, tired and no idea what I was to do next. The bus I was to have taken to Seattle had left hours before without me being able to phone home to tell my mother I wouldn’t be on the bus. The airport was jammed with people but as I walked along a hallway made by a railing there were Annie and Leonard standing right at the railing. I gasped and said “Are you here to get me?” They said “No, we’re waiting for Stan and Cindy but we’ll take you.” And they did take me home, fed me and I stayed the night. The next morning Leonard took me to the border to meet the bus home. I have always felt that God had them stand by that railing because otherwise I never would have seen them in that crush of people and it wasn’t even the part of the airport where Stan and Cindy would be arriving at.
Forever thank you for your kindness. Love, Gayla

Many many good memories of Ladner Dairy years. Remember watching Len pull one of his cows out of a muddy ditch she had gotten stuck in. He put in some long, hard hours making a living for his family.
Annie was a sweet lady, always kind, always a smile.

Wonderful service, glad we got to listen.

It is good to remember when Annie& Leonard arrived in Ladner from Holland in 1953. They were sponsored by Louise & Ole Hagen to be on the dairy farm with them. As a young person,I remember their effort to learn English which they did quite quickly so they need not continue to speak Dutch in meeting. This was always something that caught the attention of kids was to hear them speaking in their native tongue..Annie always had a winning, spontaneous smile that will be remembered. We know she was a capable, helpmate to Leonard which proved faithful to their 67 years of marriage. I am grateful for good memories in Ladner days and later in Savona and Kamloops, Damaris &Larry

Karen and I are so sorry to not be home to be with you today. When Lenard, Annie and Jenna arrived in Canada our family was privileged to have them near and have fellowship for many years together. Our father worked with Lenard and we had many wonderful times together as families grew. All our days in Ladner always included the Quist’s. It is with love and care that we think of you all today. Annie and her warm welcoming smile will be part of our memory of her. She was a dear and gracious lady.

With love and care, Keith & Karen

Delbert/Penny Lewis, Pincher Creek, Alberta. Deepest Sympathy to All the Quist Families, and Special Love to Dear Lennard.: We truly join in the feelings of your loss! The Ole and Louise Hagen family, go back long years, when special privileges come to them, new neighbors, Lennard/Annie Quist, Jannika from Holland, come to reside on the Sunrise Dairy Farm in Ladner, where Lennard was employed.. Remember gathering in meeting together, as they struggled with the language, and likely didn’t understand much but felt the spirit!! AND kept faithful! As young children, Dutch was most fascinating, and alone we would speak our Dutch. We discovered how noisy and fun their wooden shoes were, too! Thanks for the “Good old days, and for being good sports!” Just some treasures, we’ll pass along for the younger generations. Our love to all, Delbert and Penny Lewis(nee) Hagen.

My dear Lenard and children and families
I feel very privileged to have been often en Annie and Lenard’s home … their love for God’s people and God was outstanding . We saw them reach out to help those in need … the love of God was very evident in their spirit abd actions . Many today are grateful for their love , a love that God put in their hearts and they shared it . I am one of the grateful recipients , with love and sympathy from your auntie Gail down here in Chile

We met Annie and Leonard in 1966, by accident. Their neighbour across the street was Ralph’s aunt (who we were visiting.) She told us to go across and introduce ourselves because “they are your people.” Annie answered the door to my knock and I asked her if she knew Harold Stewart – one of the very few workers I knew at the time. She opened the door wide and invited us in. I was thrilled at the response. From then on, they were extra special people to us. They will be missed.

There are so many good memories of Annie and Leonard. They have been special to many of us over many years. It was so lovely to have time with them there at Calvin and Maryann’s home. It is so true that it’s the love for God that opened the door to so many good times together. Now Annie has gone on to the very thing she has prepared for all these years. She leaves behind the gift of a faithful life well lived.

Your dear Annie (wife, mother, grandmother) was the epitome of the virtuous woman (Prov.31: 10-31). Her simplicity and sincerity were so genuine. I always noticed whenever we, or anyone else, spoke to Annie, her face lit up in smile! ~ A very dear lady. Sincere condolences to all her family, Don & Edith-Anne Clegg
