I really can’t say much when it comes to Tito Ruben, as we only got to spend a really short time with him whenever he comes to the Philippines to visit with Tita Evelyn. But in that little time, I was so grateful for all that he has done for our family. He was such a great man who always had a heart to help others. I can never be thankful enough for what he and tita Evelyn had done to help our family and it will forever remain in my heart. He truly is a man of few words, but whenever he speaks, it’s always to say remarkable things and lessons in life (and may crack a few jokes here and there). I can remember how everyime he comes home to Manila, he will grace us with his ever special upside down pie and we will really miss that. Be happy and at peace with God in heaven, Tito! We love you!!

I have so many great memories with PaPa, I loved and enjoyed every family vacation we took to Florida, and Hawaii. I also loved every Holiday I was able to spend with the family in Virginia. Of course I am extremely thankful that Mama and Papa were able to be apart of my wedding and be there to support me and my husband that day. I will never forget but will always cherish the amazing memories I had with PaPa. One of my favorite memories was when we got Boba one day and Papa was trying it for the first time and he was trying to get the pearls from the straw but he was having a hard time getting them out so he was sucking so hard his face was turning red, he just laughed and made us all laugh so hard during that time. To this day Mama and I will laugh about it. Papa has always had an unforgettable smile that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I love and Miss you Papa but am glad you are no longer in pain and are dancing with the Lord in heaven.

Our condolences to your family. We remember Uncle Ruben always ready with that great smile and welcoming heart and home everytime we visit. Also was ready to give advice when we asked. Love joking with him when we just hung out and talked. We’ll miss you Tito.

Uncle Ben… Our favourite uncle! Really such a generous man and always giving us gifts or pasalubong whenever he comes home to Philippines. We are always looking forward whenever he goes for holiday to meet us all. We will surely miss you Uncle Ben. We love you… in behalf of my bros Dennis & Marvin and my sis Juliet. We are sending our love to Auntie Evelyn and to my cousins Kuya Ruel, Ruby, and Rudel. May God be with you all in this time of sorrow.

Ruben impressed me the first time I met him. I’ll never forget the ILCDS car wash at 7 -11. On independence Blvd. Other than me the only parent to help out but not like me he really helped the kids washing and rinsing the cars. From that day in 2019 I have found we have so much in common Western movies (Audie Murphy) movies. His simile that day was infectious. I loved the way he fought his adversities with a quiet confidence never complaining. He was an inspiration to me I’ll never forget him. Ruben may God give you fair winds and following seas shipmate.

I didn’t personally know him but knowing his daughter shows me how great of a man he was. She is caring, loving, kind and has a heart for God.
My own daughter remembers Ruben as a happy and smiley grandfather type. He was always there for his grandchildren whenever they needed him. Every event at school she as him there and he was a pleasant man.
