Paul Allan Borys Obituary
We are saddened by the loss of our beloved husband, father, son, brother and Papa, Paul Allan Borys, 64 of Gilbert, AZ on Dec 6, 2023.
Paul was born, the oldest of 4 boys, on September 7, 1959, to Don and Connie Borys in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He spent his first 18 years in Garden City, went on to college for 2 years, then began his 38 year career in the family business Border Glass & Aluminum which taught him many valuable skills and afforded him an early and comfortable retirement in 2016. In 1980 Paul relocated to Saskatchewan where he met and married his wife of 42 years, Norine (Affleck). Over the next many years, they lived in Saskatoon, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, and Gatineau, QC, growing their family of 4 and establishing lasting friendships in each location. In 2008 they moved to Gilbert, AZ where they were residing when Paul passed away after a heroic 19 month battle with pancreas cancer.
Left to grieve his absence are his wife Norine of Gilbert, AZ; daughter Melissa and husband Myles O’Regan and son Jamieson of Winnipeg, MB; son Jefferson and wife Amy, of St Paul, MN; son Benjamin of Mesa, AZ; and 3 very dear grandchildren, Archie, Ramona and Frederick of St Paul, MN. Paul is also survived by his parents, Don and Connie Borys, brothers David (Kathy), Stephen (Hazel), and Tim (Shelly) all of Winnipeg, MB; and many nieces and nephews for whom Uncle Paul figured large, as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and inlaws. Paul is preceded in death by his four grandparents, among whom was Vera LeVasseur, whose life and choices have had eternal impact on Paul and the Borys family.
Paul made his choice to serve God as a boy of 9, and remained true to that purpose all his life, finding even deeper joy and satisfaction in that choice in the last years of his life. Above the many and varied interests Paul pursued throughout his life, none was greater than the investment he made in people. Everyone was worth getting to know, young or old. Strangers were just friends he hadn’t yet met and every good day or activity was improved by sharing it with others. In all of his life’s efforts, foremost was his concern for the needs of his family and friends. He was our #1 cheerleader and was happily unobservant of the faults of his loved ones; he was quick both to forgive and to apologize. Many is the child who wished Paul was their dad. We will all miss him deeply the rest of our days.
Viewing to be held on Friday, Dec 15 at 10am with funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Live-streaming to begin at 10:30 am.
Interment of his ashes on a later date at a location overlooking the lake he loved so well.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Seena Magowitz Foundation.

He’s safe home. His work here is done. I am thankful he left with so many good memories. I was very pleased that he was the elder at my Wednesday night meeting in Winnipeg. I cherish the memory of times we were together. Norine, may you find sufficient strength to continue life, without your dearest friend. ♥️

Paul was my brother in law. He took an interest in me and tried to help me get work when I was young. Set up interviews for me and helped me with my resume. He always loved to help anyone he could. Paul also loved his Bible. When ever i visited, I always saw him reading. So thankful for his influence and grace.

I’m thankful to have met Paul when I lived in Arizona. I had been working at the Chandler airport, Senior year of high school Paul offered to take me flying in his Carbon Cub for my introductory flight. I will never forget that flight. I started flight training after I graduated. As a pilot, it’s always a thrill when you see people get the flying ‘bug.’ My thoughts and prayers go out to Norine and the Borys family.
Blue Skies and tailwinds!

To Paul’s family,
Paul and I met on Saturday March 3, 2018. Not surprisingly, we met at the Casa Grande airport. It was striking how much zest he had for life. His enthusiasm for flying airplanes was off of the charts.
We shared many flying adventures. My heart is filled with gratitude that he came into my life.
Paul was a good man, and a tremendous friend. Above all, he was an was a terrific role model for all who aspired to be faithful to God.
Hugs and prayers for each of you.
Warm regards,

We can attest to Paul’s ability to make us feel that we were worth knowing. We have many memories of Paul, with Noreen by his side, just being there, as a part of our support system. Specific times that come to mind are the time you fetted us as young people on our own, making the long trip out for our wedding, both of your genuine enthusiasm for our children, on their first camping trip, and invites to Granite. Your care as a couple for our extended families touched our hearts- our young nephews adored piloting the pontoon. We especially appreciated in later years, special Sundays we had with you during the summer months, and Wednesdays at the lake. It was always an extra encouragement to be with you both. Our love and care is with all of you as grieve the loss of your dear Paul.
