Barbara Jean Johnson “Bobby”, daughter of the late Willie and Ruby Kelsey, was born October 3, 1952 in Trenton, NJ. The Lord called her to be with Him on Sunday, May 3, 2020 after a lengthy battle with her health.
Barbara received her GED from Trenton Central High School in 1992; while working full time as a Unit Clerk at Lower Bucks Hospital, where she spent over 23 years. She was a member of the New Holy Cross Church of Christ, Written in Heaven in Trenton, NJ under the leadership of Bishop Willie J. Jones and a short time member of The Holy Temple Church, under the late Pastor George Lee Brookins Sr. Never one to sit still, she decided to strengthen her faith, and went to school to study to be an Evangelist; for which she gained her certificate. Barbara loved to take care of people, even when she wasn’t doing so well herself. She became an avid volunteer for the community by baking pies and cakes for the churches and homeless shelters, which brought her much joy.
She is predeceased by her parents Willie and Ruby Kelsey and five brothers: Larry, Leroy, James, Robert and Sylvester. She leaves to mourn and cherish precious memories, three children: Dywon Kelsey (Michelle), of Williamstown, NJ; Yasmeen Wilson (John) of Philadelphia, PA; and Theresa Johnson (Anthony) of Morrisville, PA; two sisters: Annie L. Henderson of Chicago, IL and Jaqueline Kelsey of Hamilton, NJ; two brothers: Willie Whitfield (Jennifer) of Trenton, NJ and Ralph Kelsey (Carol) of Burlington, NJ; six grandchildren: Troy, Se’Qjuan, Jade, Sianni, Dorian and Khyree; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A Homegoing Service was held via Virtual Memorial Gatherings at 7 PM EDT on Thursday May 21,, 2020. You can view the recorded video here.

Gone but not forgotten, especially in the eyes of our loving Heavenly Father. Ms. Barbara definitely had a big heart. I will always remember her beautiful smile. So glad she’s only resting for a while. Much love to all the family❤

Barb was a true friend. When I relocated from NY.to work at Lower Bucks hospital
she made my transitional period much more pleasant, She embraced me with her cheerfulness
and we became good friends. We continued to communicate throughout the years.
She never complained about her health no matter what she was going through.
I am happy to have known her and had the privilege to speak with her one week before
she went to meet her Savior.
She will be greatly missed.

I worked with Barb at Lower Bucks & I have often thought of her since I left. We had grown close as we shared our faith. We would occasionally go in the break room & pray together for our very difficult orthopedic floor we worked on! My husband would call me & she always answered the phone. They got to know each other as he would flirt with her & tease her. He grew to love her also just by their short conversations. She even made him sweet potato pies randomly cause she knew he loved them! We are both sad at her loss but know we will definitely see her again in heaven! I can see her now beaming & happier than ever in the arms of her Savior that she loved more than life!! Rest easy my friend! I will love you forever! Peace & prayers for those you leave behind. There is comfort in knowing you were welcomed with love good & faithful servant!!!

I met Barb while we were working at Lower bucks. She was more than a coworker she was a friend. At that time she was a single mom struggling to make a good life for her family and she did a great job. We would share our trials of raising our daughters she was always there for me with sound advise.
I respect her strong faith and cherished her words of wisdom. One of my favorites was “ feed them and they’ll look like you”. She was right as usual.
She would occasionally call to check on me when I was “playing on her mind” she has been playing on mine.
IShe is at peace now, she was a great person and will never be forgotten. I know she is having a laugh with Bob and giving Neysa a hug for me. I love Barb, Nina

Barb, I truly miss you. You have been in my life for most of my adulthood. When I graduated from nursing school and got my results, you were the first person I had to go and tell. You always was my confident, my friend and I will always love you. God blessed our friendship. Thank you for your love. Always your friend . Love you forever!!!!!
