黄红珍 Amy Huang Hongjen Pan Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of 黄红珍 (Amy Huang Hongjen Pan) on October 1, 2025, at the age of 74, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Amy was taken from us unexpectedly and suddenly, leaving her family and friends in deep shock and grief over this enormous loss.
Amy was born and raised in Nanning, Guangxi, China, where she grew up surrounded by a large and close-knit family. She later made her home in Albuquerque, where she lived for the past 40 years alongside her beloved family.
Amy is survived by her devoted children, Mary Gunn (née Pan) and Eric Pan, her son-in-law Jerry Gunn, her daughter-in-law Sherry Zhou, and her cherished grandchildren: Reggie, Remy, Toby, Dora, and Ella. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Chijen Pan.
Amy’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family. She worked tirelessly for others, always putting the needs of loved ones above her own. A nurturing mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Amy’s love and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She delighted in spending time with family and friends, and her warm cooking and playful spirit made every gathering special.
She was a woman of strength and resilience, enduring life’s hardships with hope, optimism, and quiet determination. Her faith was an important part of her life; she attended church regularly and found joy in reading and watching Chinese shows.
Amy’s kindness, generosity, and love touched many. She will be remembered not only for her inspirational character but also for her playful and caring heart. To those who knew her, Amy was a source of strength, joy, and love, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Her memory will live on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

After I moved to Albuquerque in 2016, I attended ACBC ( Albuquerque Chinese Baptist Church) services on Sundays. Amy always Sat right behind me. She was friendly and always engaged small talks with me after the services. Her warm demeanor and approach made me feel at home. She was a very quiet gentle person who was kind at heart. Her soft voice and shy smile showed me her sincerity and caring for me. She will be deeply missed.
