Shirley Parrott Obituary
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Shirley Parrott, who passed away on February 2, 2026.
Originally from Grandview, MB, Shirley, Nelson and sons, later settled in Duncan, BC, where she touched many lives with her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit. She had a natural gift for making people feel welcome and valued. Shirley’s greatest love was her family – her devoted husband, Nelson, and her cherished boys. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, love, and unwavering devotion to one another. She found great joy in bringing people together, especially through food. From her years working in a restaurant to her incredible home baking – most famously her much-loved cinnamon buns – Shirley shared her talents generously and with heartfelt joy. She treasured life’s simple pleasures: card games, music, and meaningful time spent with those she loved. Her gentle nature, warm smile, and generous heart will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. We are deeply grateful for the many laughs, memories, and moments we were blessed to share with her.
She is lovingly survived by her beloved husband, Nelson; sons: Darrell (Shirley), Jeff (Laura), and Aaron; daughter-in-law, Lynda; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her son, George.
The family would also like to acknowledge and thank the nursing staff at Cerrwyden for all their Care, Love, and continuing support through these days.
