Judy Kern Obituary

Born in Illinois to Michael and Virginia, Judy lived a life shaped by curiosity, warmth, and a genuine love of people and places. After earning her accounting degree from Northwestern University, she followed a path that blended precision with adventure. Some of her most cherished memories came from working the counter at Continental Airlines, where she met travelers from all walks of life, and from being part of the pre-opening team at Denver International Airport—an experience she loved to talk about and took great pride in.

Judy found joy in many simple pleasures: the grace and discipline of figure skating, getting lost in a good book, watching movies that transported her to faraway places, and, most of all, spending time with friends. Whether through shared stories, laughter, or quiet companionship, she valued connection deeply and made those around her feel welcome.

Judy is survived by her son, Mike Kern, and her daughter-in-law, Tanya Kern. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Bob Kern, and her daughter, Kathleen, whom she held close in her heart always.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and an online Celebration of Life will be held on January 10, 2026 at 1:30 PM MT.
