I found out just recently of your passing. Grace told me and shared this site with me. I have read the comments and see many old friends have posted. Jerry you were a dear friend. I miss you even though we lost touch a while back. I remember several times, adventures and shared AV interest from our LAGO days. The same goes for our second time in Aruba in the 90s.
Tabata un bida dushi. Te oro.

I met Jerry when I graduated high-school some 35+ years ago. We grown to be very close. Jerry took me to Aruba and Introduced me to so many people that I’m still very close with today. He helped me so much with building my business and thought me so much about life. I was very happy that I was able to see him in rehab just before his passing. I remember him saying Roy please get me out of here. Unfortunately I was unable to take him home. Jerry often tells tells me I’m his longest friendship in Florida. I truly missed Jerry, he’s been so great to my family. So happy that there will be a memorial to say goodbye to my dear friend Jerry. I will always remember you my friend.

Jerry was like my eldest brother. He rented my parents 2nd house in Lago Heights Aruba back in the 70’s and always had given me wise suggestions and ideas. I will surely miss my Penn Dutch steaks on the BBQ grill, the late night chats we had around the pool, the oily Hooters chicken wings Friday nights, the laughter we had from the things Jerry did. Jerry was an all around great guy always willing to help. One of a kind and may you say hello to Vera, Iggy, Ronny, Mama Jane, Errol and my dad who loved you as a brother. At my last visit just before you passed, you told me to come next to you on the bed to tell me you life stories just like you did when I was about 10 years old in Aruba, it was your way of telling goodbye. Well my good friend and brother, until we meet again, because Hollywood Florida will never be the same without you. 😢

To John and family, our deepest condolences with the loss of your Dad. Katy and I were able to drive down from Indiana and visit with Jerry a couple of weeks before he passed away. We had a memorable time and re-visited quite a few “happenings” in our past since we worked together for quite a few years in the Aruba Lago refinery. One “happening” that will stay with me forever is the evening that we were loading up building materials for a porch for his Mom in St. Maarten. We drove off in his Pontiac station wagon with the Security Guard and a few bystanders shaking their heads. Jerry was “balancing” the wagon, front end was bouncing up and down and the rear with all the lumber sticking out, scraping the road surface. We made it without being pulled over ! Driving back, we ran out of gas ! Jerry jumped over a fence and after awhile he returned, with a broad smile on his face and a gallon container of gas in his hand. Jerry, we will surely miss you but at the same time grateful to have shared a part of our life’s journey together. Rest in peace brother, till we meet again !A

Right now you’re in a different place,
    And though we seem apart,
You’re closer than you ever was,
    You’re here inside our heart.

You’re with us when we greet each day, And while the sun shines bright,
You’re here to share the sunsets too,
    You’re with us every night.

You’re with us when the times are good,
To share a laugh or two,
And if a tear should start to fall,
You’ll still be here for us.

    And when that day arrives,
That we are no longer apart,
You’ll smile and hold us close to you,
    Forever in our heart.

Thank you Jerry for all your help and kindness.
    We will never forget!

Jerry was like that father-in-law I never met, like a doting godfather… always with a witty, timely comment, and with his very particular way of living life, he left a lesson… building bridges of connection between friends.
