As new immigrants in 1974, we were heartily welcomed into Diane’s home in Lynn Valley. We enjoyed fellowship there in the Wednesday Bible Study. We felt sympathetic for Diane as she bravely faced her health challenges with immense courage.
    Condolences to the family circle.

I’m sorry I didn’t get to know Diane in her younger days. What a beautiful lady she was in her prime! But her spirit made her a beautiful soul in a deeper way as she lived her daily patient life. It was never a burden to visit Diane. Her face would always light up when company came. She loved to hear our thoughts and our news and our stories. Anything funny would send her into gales of laughter. She had a wonderful, contagious laugh that made us laugh too! We got to see her quite often and even when in the thick of COVID, some of our friends found a way to stay in touch with a special app that the care facility used. I counted Diane as my friend during the three years in that area, and still kept her in my heart when I left. No one can truly grieve such a sweet release for such a one who has kept the faith through many tests. But we DO give thanks for all we received and learned from her by her spirit.

I truly loved caring for Diane while she was at the Weatherby Pavilion at Peace Arch Hospital. She truly had the peace that comes with acceptance. I did not know her except to see her prior to her admission, but I feel privileged to have seen her navigate difficult waters with grace and dignity, and we also had many laughs. I am glad her prayers are safe in us golden vials, and her spirit is free and unburdened.

Our thoughts are with Mike, Julie-Anne, Makayla, Mariah, Spencer and Alexander. It’s hard to loose a mother and grandmother but you will be glad for many fond memories especially when health was not impeded and time was shared! We know there is comfort for those who mourn and a great reward for God’s faithful ones. Thinking of you today.

Thinking of you too Janet and Fran. The longest relationships in life are with siblings
So it’s hard to have those chapters end! We know there has been much care and kindness shared among you sisters. You will miss her but you will be thankful too
For sweet release from sufferings here on earth and an eternal blessing that awaits.

My sincere condolences to Mike, Scott, and all the family. Even though my Burnaby days were many years ago now, I still remember some of the visits and meals our families shared together and I still remember Diane’s sweet smile and warm personality.

    To Diane’s siblings.
My name is Gail (Kallio) Kariatsumari. My thoughts and condolences to you all in the passing of your sister Diane.
You probably don’t know me, but I grew up in Sicamous, and went to school with Diane.,(she was one year/grade ahead of me). I’ve not seen her often over the years, but have had occasion to see and visit with her at two different events in recent years, and have had updates about her from our mutual schoolmate and friend, :Lila Tucker.. My memories of Diane are of a kind and gracious person with a special smile.
May you find comfort knowing she now rests in peace.

I mainly knew Diane in the early years before she left home.
We used to correspond back-and-forth when we were both girls.
Now she has gone to a well-deserved rest.
    She had a beautiful spirit!
I feel privileged to have known her.

I remember meeting Diane for the first time at the Sigurdson home in Burnaby when we were young teenagers. I was impressed. She was neat tidy godly and had a beautiful smile.. Later when we both married she impressed me again with her cooking and baking skills. A gracious hostess, she always made us feel welcome.. I’m comforted to know she is resting in perfect peace now. ❤

Diane & I were “best of friends” from our early teen years. Often our only opportunity those years, of being together, was @ Salmon Arm Conv. We loved those times! Our friendship has spanned over 65 years; enjoying every time together… even in later years, when we could only just chat together. Her faithfulness and lovely smile these past # of years has remained constant.
I love the posted picture ~ Beautiful ~ That’s how I’ll always remember our dear friend, Diane.
Love to all the family, Don & Edith-Anne

I have fond memories of my cousin, Diane. She stayed with me and my siblings when our parents were away and I would share a room with her. I felt very privileged! I remember helping with her wedding tea service at her parents home when I was fourteen!
