Stephen, it was an absolute honor to walk beside you in your journey through life.
May you rest in peace dear soul, may you rest in peace.
Stephen’s family, specifically his mother Jene.
Jene, although we only spoke a few times, I experienced your heart each time, you assisted me to see and experience a much larger picture. Thank you for trusting each of us with the Community Stephen chose, thank you for the unconditional love and support you did not tire of expressing.
You have made a difference in each of our lives.

So very sad to hear of Stephens passing. He was such a dear boy who used to come over across the Rd to visit us when we lived in the upstairs cozy apartment and Mr &Mrs Hunters. . I was lonely for my little brothers so it was extra special. As Stephen grew up we saw less of him but he will always have a special place in my heart. So very sorry to all of you . Sending our heartfelt sympathy.

I first met Stephen on the School bus and we got talking about things and that his father was looking for employees at lords lobster. That’s when I got my start in the fish business. I got to know the family working with them for 15 years my brother Donald became good friends with Stephen as well. Many fun times in the market. It was a shock to hear about his passing and he will be missed by many. My heart goes out to the families.

It was a great privilege to listen to Steven’s memorial service today. Thank you for leaving it still on line. This is Sharon Worden (and I will include my mother, Shirley Worden, who is in a senior’s residence there in Chilliwack). We have known the Hunter family for many many years, as our family and the Hunters are from the same area in NB. Our hearts go out to each one of you in this loss, but such a comfort in word and deed for a dear son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. With mother I’d like to express our deep sympathy.
Sharon Worden (working in Ukraine) and Shirley Worden, my mother.

I remember when Stephen had arrived at the shelter. He introduced himself as Hunter, and so I thought that was his first name. Later on I discovered that his first name was Stephen so I teased him about being a 007 agent. When I greeted him I would often call him Hunter, Stephen Hunter and we would both laugh at the memory that had started our working relationship.

We stayed with Steve in Hunter Lake while his family went on holidays for 2 weeks. Steve was in his last year of High School and he had missed a number of days of school and needed written excuses for those days! We sat at the kitchen table, Steve dictating what to say and me writing and signing his moms name ! I told him I’d do it in one condition that I was telling his mom when she got home! No problem he said ! RIP Steve

Stephen was my cousin of many, but he was the same age as me. He was kind and loving. He would go out of his way to help people. He never looked down on anyone. I lost touch when he went out west. But I always loved him, and I am saddened in his passing.

Steve was a kind gentle soul who is selfless humble and just an all-around nice guy. He never gave up wanting more for himself and for his family and wanting to be better for everyone that he loved. God has shown me through Steve’s loving family and Steve himself How powerful he is and how his love can be shown in so many different ways. My prayers and thoughts are with Steve’s family and I pray that God is strengthening them through this very difficult time. He will never be forgotten.
