Our Dad, Chester Tompkins, was Sherrille’s ‘little cousin’ mentioned who she went to live with when she was six years old. (Stanley and Nita were his parents, and Phyllis and Davis his much older siblings.) Less than six months apart in age, Sherrille was a dear friend to Dad all his life, and he always mentioned her with warm fondness. As we grow older, we understand more what a valuable support the warmth of her friendship and fellowship must have meant to him from little boyhood through to old age when our dear Mom (Trudie) died and left him with lonely days. We remember when Lester and Sherrill and their children visited us in Massachusetts before we moved to Maine. We send warm sympathy to you all.

Sherrille was special! Her widowed mother married my uncle Ernest Cooke and I came from Ireland to live with them thirteen years after Sherrille and Lester were married and had left, but Sherrille and Lester were still a big part of that home and family. Over the years Sherrille and Lester and their family have meant a lot to me. Once, after Lester had died, Sherrie told me that she was enjoying the treasures of darkness, finding peace and joy and comfort in a time of loss because she knew that all was in God’s will. Another time she told me that we don’t need to fear old age because of what we can experience in that time. These were not just pleasant, passing thoughts but Sherry lived these things. I know her family will miss her deeply but we all can rest in knowing that her life was not lived in vain and that the work that was done by God in her soul is forever.

Dear Sherry’s family: I just watched a precious service for a faithful & loving soul, Sherry!!
Sherry’s passing is casting a ‘dark cloud’ over our heads. BUT “every dark cloud has a silver lining”. May the many beautiful memories of dear Sherry’s life be like “the silver lining” that we see so clearly!! The ONE, our Heavenly Father, who permitted this ‘cloud’, is presenting Himself in that beautiful “silver lining”. He’s also our Greatest Comforter! May you dear family, feel Him very near at this crucial time!! lovingly, betty, penticton, b.c.

I was so glad to be able to share via zoom Sherri’s service and hear of her so accurately described. She has been in my memories from early Burnaby days to recent whenever I made the trip home to my folks. I will always hear her sweet “How are you dear?” whenever we connected. Her smile was so welcoming and she leaves a big hole in many circles. I hope it helps the family a little to know that she was loved by many.

Dan, Jeannette, and Roy, Please accept my sympathies for your loss. I am so sorry I could not be at the service for your mom but glad to watch online. I have such wonderful memories of our Friday nights at your house when we were kids and we just loved Aunty Sherry so much! Those days were highlights of our childhood. I loved connecting with her over the years and she never changed. Always the wonderful positive lady who had a big smile and hug for me. You’ll feel the loss keenly as one generation ends but I wish you so much comfort and know you’ll have wonderful memories of your Mom!
    Much love, Sharon

I will always remember Sherri as very interested in other people , when I moved to Cloverdale she was very welcoming and I was in meeting with her until I moved. I was at her house and visited a few times and was always very welcoming . Sherri had a very inspiring demeanor. She was always very welcoming

I will always remember her her love for others and her gracious interest in other people even when she was so unable herself. She was very inspiring to me and I will miss that in her. She often spoke of her family and she loved all of them and spoke of them very lovingly.

I have wonderful memories of Aunt Sherrille and the times we were able to visit our “West Coast relatives” and were visited by them. We were always welcomed into her home and were able to learn about our cousins, big city restaurants and sleeping 4 on a bed (us girls)! We didn’t get to spend a lot of time together but she was special to Grandma and Grandpa and so special to us.
Condolences to all our cousins, some I know, Dan, Jeannette and Roy, and others I don’t. She is at peace now.
    Love, your cousin Deb

I met Sherry when Les brought her to Oroville, Washington where I was growing up. We immediately became friends. She seemed like a big sister to me. I loved her smile. Always very dear. Then, later in life, I came here to Lynden, WA to be near my daughters. And Sherry and Les were living right across the line in Canada. Immediately, we began to get together again, I would visit them (many times) and they came to visit me. I would sometimes attend funerals with them up there at Valleyview, and also attended their Sunday a.m. meeting with them. I would later see Sherry at Glen Valley convention several times. Always a smile, and a little visit. I did get a letter from her after the line was closed with covid, and she was in her new last home. Always cheerful. I will miss her. But she has gone onto her last home to be with our Father.

    Dear Dan, Jeanette and Roy,
    Our condolences and love.

Such good memories of Sherry. Our parents had a friendship that matches our ages Danny.

Dan, it in the summer of 1955 being the same age within minutes we met at the Silverdale convention baby house….remember …right I dont either . ..but I do remember when I was visited by your mother in children’s hospital when I was a preteen and introduced to those antique irons she had bought downtown!!😉
My friends, your mother was a wonderful and caring friend to all. Your mother found a treasure, a pearl of great price, and she will enjoy in the comfort of the presence of God for all eternity, and we wish the same comfort for you all, My prayers are with you siblings Dan, Jeanette and Roy.
    Love ,

When we moved to the west coast in 1966, the Moznik family was one of the first guests we enjoyed. There were many later visits together, including a few years of valued Bible study meetings in their home. Sherrie was sweetness itself and a ‘true’ sister. We had the privilege of meeting her folks and sister Elva and family as well. We think of your loss in the family chain and know it will be deep. Much love and sympathy to each one of you.

Remembering all the good times and visits with you, your cards and notes were always so helpful.. Mom and Daddy were always glad to have you and Lester come and visit them and we were glad for those times also. Thank you for your example and life.

Sherry was my father’s (Junior Guy Pratt) first cousin, both originally from Woodstock, New Brunswick area. I will never forget her immense kindness to me when I was in nurse’s training at BCIT, Burnaby. She took her time talking w/ me on the phone, and was very much a 2nd mother, listening to my young heart, and offering wisdom! She and Lester even took me to the airport once in a snowstorm! My heart ♥️ sends love to Dan, Jeanette and Roy, plus all the grandchildren, & ‘greats’!

I loved your mom. She was always so kind, could turn any situation into something good. I’m so happy she is at rest with the God in heaven that she has loved all these years. Her influence will always be with you. I feel for you in your grief…
