Henry Joseph Martinez, 87 of Visalia, California, died on January 29, 2022, in Visalia, California. Henry was born to John and Emma Martinez on August 27, 1934 in Aurora, Colorado.
Henry lived in Colorado until he was 7 years old. His family moved to California. In 1953 he joined the Marine Corps. He married Sarah Jane Gerard. He was discharged in 1956 and moved to Illinois. There they raised their three children.
In Kankakee, Illinois, he worked as a WAREHOUSE WORKER for Roper Corporation for over 17 years as a foreman until he retired and moved to Colorado in 1978. He worked at various jobs until he started with AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation in 1980. He retired from Amerisource in 1996. He moved to California, and set up his permanent residency there in 2019.
Henry enjoyed sports, music, dancing, going to casinos,spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by three children, Henry G, Martinez, Patrick Martinez, Dorthy Stambaugh (Wesley), Grandchildren, Angellyna Martinez, Amber Atchley (Kevin), Amadeus Martinez, Abraham Martinez, Andreus Martinez, David Stambaugh (Marcela) and Katrina Lozano (Jay). Thirteen great grandchildren. Brother Raymond Martinez and sister Mary Ann Martinez and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents, John and Emma Martinez. Brothers John, Herman, Benny, Jessie and Simon Martinez and four great grandchildren.
Henry will truly be missed by all.
