Catherine (Gates) De Witt Obituary
Catherine (Gates) De Witt, age 71, of Plano, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was born January 24, 1952, in New London, Connecticut, to Florence S. (Sawyer) and Curtis Walcot Gates Jr. She married her soulmate, John William De Witt, in Redlands, California, on February 13, 1976. Catherine touched many people’s lives and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Catherine is survived by her children, Randy De Witt and his wife Gail, Larry De Witt and Jennifer De Witt; her grandchildren, Tiffany Mueller and her husband, David, Kurt De Witt, Dakota De Witt, Curtis De Witt, Aubry Brooks, and Lilith Brooks; her great-granddaughter, Andrea Mueller; her brother, George Gates; her sister, Christine Gates; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her beloved, John W. De Witt, her sister, Linda Gates, and her parents, Florence and Curtis Gates Jr.
Family and friends are invited to a Remembrance Gathering at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

Jan and I have many memories with Cathy and John. Camping in Forest Home, trips through DeWitt Paint Store and visits to Cathedral City.

Because we lived far apart, I did not see Catherine very often. But whenever I did see her, she was always so welcoming and gracious to me as her sister-in-law. I admired her high energy and will miss her.
